Privacy Policy

Parent Check is a shared checklist app for new parents. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell your data, and we don't show ads.

What we collect

Account details: your email address and first name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google — nothing else from your Google account.
Your family's lists: the lists and items you and your partner create, edit or check off, who they're assigned to, and who completed them.
Family details you choose to add: a family name, a due date or birthday, and your birth plan preference.
Notification subscriptions: if you turn on notifications, your browser gives us a push address for that device.
Basic logs: our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (like errors) to keep the service running.

How we use it

To sign you in and keep you signed in (a secure cookie on your device).
To show your lists to you and the partner you invite — and to nobody else.
To send sign-in emails and, if you turn them on, notifications when your partner updates a list.
If you choose to send an addition or correction to our team, we receive that item's text so we can improve the starter lists.

We don't sell or rent your information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't share it with anyone except the service providers below, who process it only to run Parent Check.

Service providers

Cloudflare — hosting and database.
Resend — delivering sign-in emails.
Google — only if you choose "Continue with Google".
Your browser's push service (for example Apple, Google or Mozilla) — only if you turn on notifications.

Links to stores

Some "To Get" items link to products on other sites, such as Amazon. Those sites have their own privacy policies. Some links may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission at no cost to you.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your account and lists for as long as you use Parent Check. To delete your account and your family's data, email us from the address you sign in with and we'll remove it within 30 days. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and are used once.

Children

Parent Check is for adults. It's built to help parents plan for their children, but it isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app.
